i was thinking it would be helpful if a cab file could be made that would self extract and make changes that need to be made. it would keep errors in reg to a min[attachment=269]

I'm almost positive it is, but I unfortunately don't know how to make a .cab like that.... come to think of it I don't know how to make a .cab at all. When SD sees this I'm sure he can.

There are a couple progs that allow you to make cabs. May take a little time to learn some of the more advanced .cab functions, but it's not all that hard. Where do you think Sir Duke's Unlock.cab came from? Certainly not from thin air . SD made it. You can too. Here ya go. It's shareware and does have some distribution limitations but I believe it is fully functional. Just unzip and install on your PC. Yes, it IS a PC app so don't try to run it on your phone

Oh, what is that "metrocab" file?

that is what i want to make into a self exe file . it is what you do to get the mms and net going on Q9s flashed to metro, i think that a lot of people don't like to make reg changes because thy don't know how or unsure of themselves

ok. I looked the document over. Everything in the doc looks feasible. Cept I am unsure about the phone number editing part. Since a file has to be edited with a different number for every user, a configurable prompt would have to come up during cab install to promp for user mobile number entry. aside from that, it's doable. I'll ask Duke if Ce Cab manager can do that.
