Well warranty is out so time to start modding...
I think I am going to do a custom case...

But I am going to install a Talismoon Whisper Max fan system
along with upgrading to the Gen2 GPU heat sink...
Then puting in a clear flow tube and a XCM Core Cooler v2....
I am also thinking about adding a Digital LCD temp control unit
For visual temp and fan speed control but at the same time using
a LED system that the unit glows a certain color according to temp
range.....

Below 84.2°F (29°) Orange
86°F-87.8°F (30 to 31°C) Purple
89.6°F-95°F (32 to 35°C) Light Blue
96.8°F-102.2°F (36 to 39°C) Green
104°F-109.4°F (40 to 43°C) Blue
111.2°F-116.6°F (44 to 47°C) Red
Over 118.4°F (48°C) Red Light flashing


I am going to try to get mine to run at a steady
96.8°F-102.2°F so it glows green to go along with the
Green Whisper Max fan and the Green Core Cooler v2

But it will be nice to have a quick visual as to the running temp

I have seen some in the blue and green cases... they look nice. I think the clear was a good choice. So whats next, maybe this...

Sounds like a pretty neat design idea. Any other mods besides case mods. Are you modding console to play "backup" games?

With the color changing LED idea. Is it not possible to just set the light to green even if you're outside of that temp. reang?

Keep a photo diary if you can. Members will definitely be interested in the process you took.

I couldn't afford to do something like that, all though it would rock. It would be on the stolen car list around here in a heart beat...

No I am not going to mod it for backup games right now till I get a new console.
Don't want to risk getting banned.
I could just set the lights to green but then I would be defeating the purpose of the temp changing lights....

Yes I will keep a photo log, maybe I will try to keep a video log too and edit it before posting.

Yea definitely get a backup console in case of bans.

I understand the purpose of the temp change lights. But if I were installing a digital readout for temp then I think I would rather have all lights match and not change wiht temp. The screenshots look nice though. I don't know what color I like best.

You gonna do any controller modding?

I don't know, I am surely not doing any kind of rapid fire mods as I am not into cheating...

But I might do some visual mods and maybe a tilt sensor.......

I am working with a guy who does xbox repair and such everyday..
But runs a pc shop.. So I am trading some pc parts for the mod parts I want..
So it really just depends on what all is available for me..

Also I think I might go with XCM Core Cooler v1 instead unless i mod the case a little... I have read several complaints on the v2 to which the second fan that sits on the right side of the unit kinda angled has a lack of air flow situation that causes the fan to create a kind of suction that makes it bounce against the mount.
