After spending last week looking, I decided to spend my weekend working on my phone. After a day and a half I got MMS working on my Alltel Q9c that had WM6.0 on it.

Warning, I did this on a clean flashed phone using a Verizon update, not the full monster file, this will edit you registry file so I will not be held resposible. Main thing to remember is that I had no apps or anything installed at the time I copied portions of my registry so if you have, it may overwrite.

As said above, it may be best to backup your phone and reset it, that way you don't have to worry about anything.

1. Unlock your phone so you can change the registry and overwrite files.
2. Copy the files from the Zip to your windows directory except for the registry file.
3. Using CeRegEditor, open your registry and import registry file in Zip.
4. Turn your phone off, then back on.

That should be it, tried and built these files on my Q9c and also have done my wifes. Both phones work great, MMS works, Sliding panels kick butt. Couldn't be happier so I thought I would share 964939

Not a problem, i about had a heart attack after watching the percentage climb to 100% Lol. After reading through trying to figure out a way, I figured it would be a real pain to figure out. Some where in one of these threads someone dumped a 6.1 Alltel Q9c, I was able to take that dump, pop the files and the keys out, and it worked like a charm. Not bad for 10hrs lmao. Next up is GPS, that should be a fun one, been following along with that for a while. I know its off topic here, but do you have a clue which carriers GPS is working on, maybe I can get a dump, and do the same with that.

I know you are looking for someone else to verify it other than me, just thought I would add that I have 5 Q9c's that I have gotten the MMS working on. I posted this on another site, only one person has tried it over there and he hasn't had any luck. Not sure if he used the Moster flash to get his phone over to Verizon 6.1 or if he did it wrong, trying to find out more from him. Like I said up above though, I have only done this with using the Verizon update flash, I have no clue if it makes a difference or not. I hate to sound like this, but since I have it working, I dont dare play around with it to tell you guys different about the types of flash and if it makes a difference or not. Let me know if you have any issues though and I will try to help out as much as possible. I have had luck with 5 phones like I said above, would hate to think its just dumb luck Lol.

Dont get us wrong... we are extremely excited for you and your discovery. We just ask for someone to verify just so we can be sure.

Pellet has been working on this as well with one of our Moderators Draigenwolf and they would be the ones to ask. I am sure he will see this and chime in for us at some point.

I cant give enough kudos for your efforts and helping us with this issue and keep up the good work. 964939

Unfortunately I can't test this with my Q9c as I have the one working on Alltel's release of Windows 6.1 that was dumped for the testing purposes. Pellet however does have a Q9c updated with the Verizon tutorial in this section and I'll ask him to try it out and let us know the results when he gets home from work.

Thank you for the work on the MMS, after I got my phone replaced and it came with 6.1 I wasn't able to do any more testing aside from ripping the registry codes out and looking at the ones on my new phone and comparing them to my old 6.0 registry dumps but without being able to run real time tests I was stuck.

The GPS issue is a whole other beast but Sprint Q9c's are currently the ONLY ones that have GPS unlocked on them.

I am working with Pellet in another forum with it, he hasn't had any luck as of yet, I just explained my steps and all the software that I use, hope it helps him. Are you the one that posted the dump file for the Alltel Q9c that has 6.1, if so, thank you. I downloaded the raw dump and extract the files and registry settings from that to make the MMS work, wasn't able to find the post yet to thank the person. I will screw around with the GPS, dont expect much as I have seen where you guys have been working it at all angles. Thanks for the info about Sprint though, gives me a starting point.

Will have to see if we can get him over here. Haven't been working to hard on it though, mostly trying to figure out what he is doing different that may be causing it not to work. I layed out to him how I do it, and what software I use. I will copy and paste that convo below so that everyone else can see that also.

"Maybe its what I am using then, here is what I do. I flash the phone using the upgrade file VRZ_P3_NN_C_07.7A.00I_UPGRADE_FILE_01.sbf, after that I use Security Configuration Manager from Microsoft to Provision a security off certificate to the phone giving me full access to change and overwrite files and registry settings, it can be downloaded at this link.

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/detai...laylang=en

Once that is done, I copy the files from the zip file over to the Windows directory using the explore option on Synch. The last step I do is use CeRegEditor to import the registry settings. Turn the phone off and then back on and thats it. After that I send a few MMS messages to make sure it works, sometimes it take 2 - 3 send attempts before it goes, but once it does I normaly dont have a problem again. Hope that helps. As far as other settings, I dont change anything."

Just passing on that Craiggiarc in another thread site was able to get it working, I am glad to hear it wasn't just dumb luck. I'm not going to post the link to that thread site here because I am not fully sure of the rules on that, still learning all the rules Smile But thought I would pass it on that someone else was successful 964939
