I'm wondering if it is possible to flash the Moto Q firmware to the Q9c and have full functionality. If this is a ridiculous, I'm ready to be laughed at. I'm just curious because my wife just bought a q on ebay and wants it to be like my Q9c...

It can be done, just as long as it's the black Q. If it's the silver one, well then your stuck with the WM5 rom that's on it. Has something to do with hardware features.

Well that sucks, she did get the silver one. The pone that she got is VZW branded but we have Alltel service, does anyone know where I can get an Alltel flash for the silver Moto Q? If not, is there a reg edit that will allow us to use the internet and mms functions?

Thanks in advance!

This is probably a really silly question but what does flashing a Q or Q9c with another service providers software other than the original do for the user? Does it allow that user to use the device with the new service provider, or perhaps features that were disabled by the original service provider? I'm just curious as to what it does and/or why one would do it i.e. taking a Sprint Q9c and flashing it with Alltel? Just please clarify, thanks.

I have alltel service with a VZW phone. I need to flash the Alltel firmware in order for the MMS service to work with the phone. Without it the phone works, but the MMS and internet functions will not work.

Really. Hmm.
So the stock Verizon WM6.0 monsterpack linked around here would be able to be flashed to a graphite Sprint Q? No special modifications? I can just flash it with RSD lite as if it were a Q1 ROM?
